A double double for Jack and Graham

It’s been a bumper week for test passes and Jack was to complete his module 2 first time. Working abroad it’s been a challenge to get Jack in for training, but he managed to pass his module 1 on Monday first time and another first today with his module 2.

Congratulations Jack!

I think you can tell Jack is happy!

And to continue with our excellent pass rate Graham went on to get a double first too. Completing his module 1 with Zero faults. His module 2 pass now gives him the opportunity of a new bike.

Craig and Neil pass their DAS together

Today has been another busy day with both Craig and Neil passing their Module 2 test and both first time. First to pass was Craig who had an early morning slot. Enjoyed his test and was informed by the examiner “he did great”

Congratulations Craig

Neil was next in line to take his Module 2 and with another great ride on a warm sunny day he passed too.

So it’s off to buy some new bikes for both of them, we’re looking forward to seeing both of them on their new machines.

Jag completes his Direct Access in a week

Congratulations to Jag who completed his 3.5 day DAS course. He completed his module 1 with a clean sheet and was congratulated by the examiner on an excellent pass. He then went on to take his module 2 three days later with another excellent pass.

The weather was glorious and again he was complimented on his riding ability. He can now join his brother who passed with us a few months ago. We wish them both well and look forward to seeing them both on their new bikes.

Jag Passes his Motorcycle Test

Chris passes his motorcycle test at the double!

Another Double First!

Congratulations to Chris who took his CBT with us just 3 weeks ago and then went on to take our 3.5day DAS course spread over the following couple of weeks. On Monday he passed his module 1 motorcycle test, being told by the examiner that he “rides very well”!

Then our instructor, who lives in Oldham, woke to find the roads covered in snow and was unable to get his motorcycle out of his garage! No fear, he borrowed a car and made it through the blizzard to a somewhat wetter Stockport in plenty of time to meet Chris and escort him to the test centre using one of our training bikes!

Poor Chris then had to endure heavy rain, snow and winds as he went out on his module-2 motorcycle test. But it was all worth it as he also passed that first time and again received complimentary feedback from the examiner!

So that’s both tests passed first time – another “Double First”!

Well done, Chris!

Adam passes his motorcycle test at the double!

Another double-first as Adam passes his both his module-1 and module-2 motorcycle tests first time!

Adam traveled over to Inner Circle Training from Liverpool on the recommendation of a friend who also passed his motorcycle test with us (both first time, naturally!). It was worth the trek to Stockport as he passed both his module-1 and module-2 motorcycle tests first time after just 2.5days of Direct Access training, a course ideally suited to his experience level as he’s been riding bikes off-road for several years.

Congratulations, Adam!

Ryan and Dave pass their DAS motorcycle tests!

Congratulations to both Ryan and Dave who both passed their module-2 motorcycle tests this afternoon at Bredbury Test Centre.

Ryan travelled all the way from Liverpool to take his DAS training with Inner Circle Training, opting for our 2.5day “Experienced Rider” course due to his background of riding off-road. This option paid off as he passed both his module-1 and module-2 motorcycle tests FIRST TIME!

Dave’s journey was a little longer, opting for a more ad-hoc training programme as he only held a provisional driving licence, but today he also passed his module-2 motorcycle test and will soon be the proud owner of a pink photocard licence instead of his previous green one!

Congratualtions, both of you!

Nathan and Simon both pass their bike tests first time!

Today has been another busy day, with Nathan first up with his category A2 (he’s only 20!) motorcycle test at 9:17 this morning. Not that the early start (ok, it’s not THAT early!) was a problem for him as he sailed through the module-2 test and was rewarded with the comment “nice ride” by the examiner!

So that’s another double-first as he passed his module-1 test first time last week!

Congratulations, Nathan!

Next up was Simon, whose test was at 12:43. The examiner must have had a good lunch because he also passed, at his first attempt, and with ZERO FAULTS!

Well done, Simon!

Both riders are very happy because now they get to ride their new bikes – Nathan has bought a Honda CBR650F our friends at North West Honda, who also paid for his DAS course! Simon has a new KTM 690 Enduro R waiting in his garage at home, and I suspect that he will be out riding it by the time I finish typing this!

Paul leads Triumph Dealers on the ride out of the year!

Our chief instructor, Paul, has just returned from a trip to Portugal where he was ‘working’ as part of the Globebusters team leading groups of European Triumph dealers as they test-rode the latest bikes.

With over 100 motorcycles arriving by lorry to join the 40 or so already in Portugal for the press launch, the logistics of this operation were quite something. Organised by Triumph’s central marketing team, the event invited dealers from all over Europe to stay for a couple of nights so that they could become familiar with the updated Bonneville range – the gorgeous Street Twin 900, Bonneville T120 and stunning Thruxton R cafe-racer; the revised Speed Triple R and the vastly updated and technologically advanced Tiger Explorer 1200 XCA. Each group of dealers would get a full day riding the bikes, arranged so they rode each model for over an hour in the twisty roads around the event’s base in Cascais.

Paul flew out on the Thursday, helped unload the bikes and equipment on the Friday and then joined the other riders to test out the proposed route and suggest changes. On the Sunday he got to ride the route one more time to ensure it was suitable and to check out the various coffee stops and change over points. Monday saw the first group of dealers arrive and Paul led a group of 15 – mostly Belgians with a few Italians – on a 250Km route over the course of the day as the bikes were put through their paces – in glorious sunshine. Tuesday was the turn of the Germans and it rained in the morning, the roads turning treacherously slippery resulting in the ride being cut short, but when the sun returned in the afternoon he headed back out again with his group so they got to try all the bikes. Wednesday was overcast for the French, before the sun came out again for the Brits on Thursday, both groups completing the full 250Km route. The British group included the “2 Robs” from Youles Triumph’s Manchester and Blackburn showrooms, and although they were not in Paul’s group they both had a great time! Friday was the final day and the heavens opened again with visibility really poor for the Spanish contingent, over half of which decided discretion was the better part of valour and opted to return to the hotel after the first stop, meaning Paul also returned to help pack up the bikes and equipment for the rest of the day.

The end of event celebrations almost resulted in Paul missing his flight home, but he’s now recovered and back instructing. Whilst he was away the team of Nic and Geoff did a great job delivering CBTs and DAS courses, with more module 1 test passes and riders given the chance to ride their 125s unsupervised!

Alex passes her motorcycle test first time with NO FAULTS!

Massive congratulations to Alex, who has passed both her module-1 and module-2 motorcycle tests at the first attempt and with scoring no faults on either test becomes the latest member of our exclusive “double-first, double-clean” club!

Alex’s busy work schedule meant that our regular DAS course wasn’t suitable, so we worked around her diary to ensure she was fully prepared for both tests and it certainly paid off with a flawless performance both on the module-1 manoeuvres and out on the road for her module-2 motorcycle test.

With both her and her partner, Simon, having bought brand new Triumph Street Triples, the pressure was certainly on when she took her tests, but that didn’t stop her from getting the best result possible. Paul (our instructor) then went with her to collect her bike from Youles Triumph in Manchester – I think he may have been a little jealous as the bike is simply stunning!
