Easter Weekend 2025
Friday 18th – Monday 21st April 2025
The Scottish Borders is an area that is largely unexplored, with most tourists bypassing the area on the way to the Highlands, yet it contains some of the UK’s best biking roads. This makes it ideal for developing your riding skills, as the roads are largely empty!
This 4-day, approx. 750-mile, Advanced Riding Training Tour has been put together to exploit the best this area has to offer, and running over the long Easter Weekend makes it an ideal getaway!
We will be staying for 3 nights at the fantastic Buccleuch Arms Hotel, which as well as providing excellent accommodation is ideally located for our explorations. The hotel is famous amongst the biking community. Owned by the Smith family who are all keen bikers, they have extensive knowledge of the best riding roads in the area. Paul has tapped into this knowledge to put together routes that will provide you with the ideal backdrop to developing your riding.
The hotel (above) also has secure motorcycle garages (see pic below) to store your bikes and a drying room should the Scottish weather turn inclement.
To help you get the most from the Training Tour, we hold a ‘classroom’ session prior to each day’s riding, allowing you plenty of time to put the theory into practice. Our qualified advanced riding instructor(s) will also be on hand throughout the tour to provide you with personalised advice and guidance to help you further improve your riding.
Overview of the tour:
- Friday 18th April (Good Friday) –ride north through the Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
- Saturday 19th April – ride out from Moffat (route tbc)
- Sunday 20th April (Easter Sunday) – ride out from Moffat (route tbc)
- Monday 21st April (Easter Monday) – ride back south via North Pennines and Yorkshire Dales on a different route to that taken on Friday
Included in the Scottish Borders Training Tour:
- Detailed Participant’s Guide providing full details of the tour
- 3 nights accommodation at the Buccleuch Arms Hotel on a bed & breakfast basis
- Daily Route Notes including points of interest and location of regroup points
- GPS route files (a GPS is not essential)
- Daily pre-ride training briefings; daily post-ride briefing and post trip report
- Minimum of three 1:1 instruction sessions across the course of the 4 days
- Services of our qualified advanced riding instructor throughout the training tour
- Optional Online Motorcycle Roadcraft course available prior to the tour (£30 extra)
This tour is limited to just 8 riders (pillions welcome) to ensure plenty of opportunity to ride with our instructor. We do not typically ride as one group, with riders encouraged to ride in small (2-3) groups and swap leader frequently.

- Solo Rider in shared room – £600
